Objectives: Exploitation of emerging technologies for successful software-based ventures will be the focus. Efforts would be made to develop a close liaison between the department and the industry. The course would contribute towards the product design and development in context of prevalent economy and market place. At the end, it is expected that the students would develop or tailor an existing product and register a number of real clients.
Contents: Creativity and innovation; market factors; need analysis; value addition; raising finances; value based software engineering; software business models; product v/s project; products strategy; software ecosystems; different types of software businesses such as products, services and contents; product sustainability in the market; different software deployment platforms for possible exploitation such as desktop, Web based, mobile, other small devices and gadgets; seminars by people from industry: a number of seminars covering different aspects such as opportunities and issues related with local / overseas/internet based software markets.
